An Open Letter to Donald J. Trump

Dear Mr. President,

Didn’t expect I’d have to say this again.

You don’t know me. I’m one of your constituents as a citizen of the United States. I’m the editor-in-chief of the online magazine and news source And I speak for all of our writers. And I’d like to give you a message about your tweet pictured above.

The freedom of the press is so important to a free nation that it was included in the first amendment to the constitution you took an oath to protect and defend. In our first president’s tenure in the office, he was so adored by the people that they weren’t sure how to address him. “Your Exalted Excellency” was floated as one, and there were a number of others proposed, all including the title “excellency.” Finally one Senator pointed out that the constitution specifically forbids titles that are akin to royalty. We had just thrown the most powerful empire in the world at the time out of our fledgling country. Royalty was anathema to everything we had just rid ourselves of.

As much as you like to think of yourself as an elected king or emperor, you most certainly are not. You’re an employee. Of us. We are not “an enemy of the American people.” By “we” I mean all of the media and press. And we will never stop reporting on your activities. Trying to threaten or bully us won’t work.

Should you try to shut down any media, you’ll be in for the fight of your entire term as president. You have a lot more important things to place your focus on. We suggest you get to work. This pettiness is a distraction you can’t afford. I have no idea what happened to your self-confidence to make a man of your age so incredibly easy to provoke. It needs to stop. Our real enemies notice this and will use it against you.

We are the media, and none of us are going anywhere. I hope others pay attention and add their voices to ours by using your personal favorite promotion method: Twitter. You probably won’t read this, but someone in your staff will.

Let’s all hope someone can convey this message to you in the terms you understand.

This is a lame article. You have no idea what freedom of the press is. When the news selectively edits out the truth it has become propaganda. Please take notes because you have no readership and this may explain why!! Example: The media airs every black shooting by police as a violation of “social justice”!! They do not Aire white shootings by the police at all!! So the viewer like you gets the impression that Black shootings happen all the time while white ones never happen. This is so “wrong”. A quick look at the facts shows a different story and that over twice as many white shootings happen. So why no coverage? Unfair and unbalanced coverage like this is to drive an agenda. I do not expect you to understand this. It truly may be over your head, but I invite you to debate me on We The People’s News Podcast anytime!! Keep your poison social justice it comes from Lucifer and is self-worship!! Try some honest fact-based Journalism. Have a nice day and always glad to help~RJH
